No pushing, no extreme stuff, be mindful of your capacity and you will feel different. Connect with the ground and feel it strong and firm under your feet. Build up to 36 if you want to - don't rush there. Try three cycles first, then nine and go from there. If you start then, like I often do - get distracted - write the numbers 1 - 36 somewhere and focus on each number as you go. Count on your fingers if all else fails, and if you have 36 of them, I'd love to know. The idea is that we are gently moving stale energy (and releasing that which no longer serves us) out of the body and bringing in the new and fresh. Any clearing you do helps you and all the people around you and regular practice helps you strengthen and brings benefits to your body. The new fresh air we breathe in has the stronger life force energy in it - especially if we are outside. Inside the house, the energy has slowed and is recycling around, this is why it's important to open windows and doors. More lively energy brings you better life force. Breathwork is used all over the world to balance mind and body, and has been known to help focus and also with pain relief. (Think birthing for example.) You are breathing out the ideas and thoughts you have, and bringing in the energy of universal consciousness. This energy is stronger and clearer near water and is also contained in water, this is why we get great ideas in the shower or the bath, why the air is fresher at the sea and near lakes and waterfalls, and why we have more of a flow when we are hydrated. We are what we think, and also what we drink! Fresh is best. Have a try with the breath exercise and let me know how you get on.

Oh so beautiful, green is a balm for the spirit. When we have spent so much time in our concrete jungles, it's the green we are missing. We need to eat it, take in it's nutrients, but we also need to see it and rest in it. Green is the colour of your heart chakra. Green in balance, is love, life, harmony, peace, rejuvenation, it's youth, growth and fortitude. Green is the colour of all life, crops, abundance, fertility and regeneration. Green crystals such as jade are highly prized as symbols of wealth, love, peace and family. Green out of balance is often a symbol of jealousy or of being a newcomer - someone whose branches are fresh growth. In nature, the air is clearer, ki chi or prana energy is much fresher and more live and our bodies get great benefit from that circulating around in our bodies. So a beautiful thing we can do for ourselves is to really intend to circulate that breath and consciously take in the energy. A 36 breath cycle is perfect. Green Experience: Do a body check, notice how you are feeling now, if you feel any heaviness or closure in your chest space, how your physical, mental, emotional spaces are, and what is going on with your spirit. Stand and imagine you are in a circle of golden light on the floor. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth and relax, dropping shoulders, flexing, bouncing and breathe again into stillness. Within your circle, you ask for green (the energy of green) to come in at your heart level. Intend for the right green to arrive to rejuvenate your heart space. You could imagine you are drawing the deep, refreshing green of the grass up through your feet and all the way through your body if you want. Don't brush away any pictures or thoughts you have, just go with them and be. Spend a couple of minutes feeling this green and then let it go. Do a new body check. Is there a difference? Is it subtle or quite marked. How do you feel now? Are you finished with green or do you think you might need a little more? Do you need some pink to soften it? Pink accompanies green and promotes love and gentle self acceptance in with the new growth. We are made of light and colour, and so harmonising our colours is a wonderful skill to have. During a session when I worked with a client a few years ago I saw her with her small suitcase, being sent far away. I was given the words 'Leaving Liverpool' and when I shared them with her, she said she was part of the Child Migrant scheme (and was grateful to be sitting down). Big healing energy was present in the space that day as we worked through trauma and into peace. I had read the book Empty Cradles by Margaret Humphries when it first came out, so I was aware of how devastating and widespread the damage was for children, taken from living parents and sent overseas in a drive to populate parts of the globe with good, strong, working 'stock'. Many parents were told their children had either been adopted in England or their lives had been lost and the children were often told they had been orphaned. The last time it happened was 1967! Margaret's story is an amazing piece of work that has helped many lives by bringing transparency to the acts of Government, charitable and religious organisations and ultimately creating networks of support and assistance to enable people to find relatives that may still be alive. http://www.bookdepository.com/Empty-Cradles-(Oranges-Sunshine)-Margaret-Humphreys/9780552165327 More information: http://www.ssasturias.net/the_lost_children.html Useful links for child migrants are here: http://www.ssasturias.net/links.html (Photo Source The West Australia News 2007) Some children were also sent to New Zealand and other countries. I don't know if it still happens, but the women's magazines, such as the Womens Weekly and Womens Day regularly featured small advertisements in the back from people wanting to connect with missing relatives, brothers and sisters who were separated. These days, we are so lucky to have the internet, making the world a much smaller place.
Hanging on to something that happened a long time ago can consciously or even unconsciously happen. Tough life experiences and attitudes (negative thoughts about ourselves or others) can colour everything that comes after them if we let them. When you go into a place of peace around those things - you feel physically lighter - a lighter spirit really does help you to feel like you have a lighter body. And not only that, but it seems to make things flow better around you. Taking the time to do it, and making the commitment to you is key. That 'baggage' that sometimes impacts our lives so much, can be moved. How many times have you heard a friend who is dating say 'great lady - too much baggage?' or 'nice guy - just can't let his wife go'? The things we hold definitely impact our relationships with others. Why are we carrying it around? The weight can be disappointment/resentment (sometimes creating arthritis) it can be disillusionment and often, people feel stupid for trusting and then having their hearts broken, and sometimes we don't know we are carrying it, but we continue to attract similar experiences because it's on our minds, or in our fields. I can tell you this for free… I almost missed out on my lovely husband because the men in my past were still haunting me. I was still holding them - as proof that the world was full of terrible men (I had hardly any other proof) and I had to make a concerted effort to release them and face him without my fears and judgements. When I faced him, without that energy on board, I was not only free - I WAS SO EXCITED. And all he had done was ask me out for dinner. Most decent men would have no clue at all that such a lovely thing to do for a woman could be so terrifying, but it was. I had literally broken out into a cold sweat on the day I was meant to be going out with him. Gee am I glad I sorted it!! So… it's great to do a bit of a body/spirit check from time to time and see if there is anything we are letting get 'under our skin' (rashes, shingles) or anywhere we are scared to move forward (feet or ankle strains) repeated stories we tell ourselves of bad experiences, or any parts of our lives that we just feel heavy/stuck in. You'll know if it's preventing you from moving forward, or just keeping you in a holding pattern. Check it out - even the heaviest burdens can be lifted. What would you like to be free for?
Yellow is a colour we either love or we sometimes have a major aversion to. I used to really dislike it. I disliked it when I was most out of balance, most scared, and most suffering from very low self esteem. Why? It sort of took courage to stand in front of its radiant brightness. It kind of felt like there was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide from its bold, sunny 'niceness.' And I wasn't feeling that. These days of course, I have learned so much about colour, and the very important part yellow plays in self confidence, in self esteem, in the gut, liver, spleen and pancreas for wellness. Yellow is the colour of the Solar Plexus Chakra. Solar obviously comes from the sun - a most important healer - despite our local issues with the ozone layer - we need it. Simple as that. Seasonal Affective Disorder can be treated with it, and in its absence, can be treated with yellow. The Latin word Plexus is described as follows: noun pl. plexuses or plexus
When you are a 'bundle of nerves' the right kind of yellow can settle you. I use lemon to cut, clear, cleanse and delete, and gold to restore, recharge and fill. I don't have to tell you that Gold is untarnishable, valued highly and awarded for bravery - it is a sign of strength and power. We use to gold build up courage, remember people who are 'chicken' are sometimes called lily livered, yellow bellied and other similar names? Yellow/gold radiates that fear away. So if you feel a little resistance to golds or yellows, try a test. Consider how you feel about yourself in general. Consider the gold. Then use an affirmation such as 'I am strong' over and over and over, for several minutes or over the course of a few days, and take another look at the gold. See if you feel a difference with the colour after you've used the affirmation. And let me know how you get on. I'd love to know. Deb X 021 726 276 |
