Do you resonate with this?
You've dragged yourself to work, aching and knowing that you really shouldn't be there, but you are scraping through hoping you'll make it to the weekend. It's only Wednesday and everyone is looking at you as if you are a leper. You have 'the guilts' and are being eyeballed as a risk to everyone's health, while simultaneously cursed, because nobody wants you to take time off. You are wishing you were at home in bed anyway. You somehow find a hidden reserve of energy and make it through the afternoon, go home, and in the morning you just can't do it. Your worry about the cost of a day off, of healthcare, what other people think about you spreading bugs and being a general inconvenience has melded with your feeling like crap and something has tipped the balance on your scales. You decide not to go into the office today. You don't really like taking pills, but if you have to, you will take them, and you're not getting any better, so you go to the Doctor - because you can't take time off work without a medical certificate. Sitting in the waiting room, you pray that other peoples bugs don't jump on you and so you shallow breathe and cringe slightly. You watch, privately shuddering as small, slime encrusted children share their slime with toys and books, and you wonder to yourself about how potentially hazardous it is to collate a whole lot of buggy people in one space. The Doctor is running late. More buggy people arrive. You succumb to the allure of the 2 year old House & Garden - to discover the recipe of your dreams in its pages. Your morals say no to ripping out the page - and the recipe is a long one. You are halfway through frantically scribbling when the Doctor calls your name. In his office you breathe again, mentally testing yourself on his eye chart, and wondering how tall you are now, while you look at the measuring tape on his wall. He takes one look at you and says "You're not well." This is not news to you. (Doctors are amazing people, and they work brilliantly with body mechanics and clues. Thankfully some very fabulous ones are getting into natural therapies and so can offer a range of services - however - I am not talking about them - this is just an experience.) He is not sure what it is. You and your body presented him with clues, and the clues seem to indicate it could be a virus. However, just in case it's something he can kill - he gives you a prescription for antibiotics and your 'get out of jail free' card - the You Are Medically Unfit for Work certificate. Off to the chemist, you wait again, and the total sum of your trip is around $90 - $100. You go home and eye the antibiotics suspiciously. They appear to be baiting you and they just feel like chemicals and giving in. Thinking that you normally get well anyway in about 3 days, you put them on top of the fridge. With the other old unopened antibiotics. Somewhere you read about them killing good bacteria anyway. You are definitely off to bed, but first you have a glass of water because you are dehydrated from all the running round, you put on a load of washing, clean some windows, wash the kitchen floor and catch up on a few jobs that you haven't done around the house. Later you feel much better. Even though you didn't take the tablets. Why? You moved out of work energy - your body was telling you to leave and you listened. You moved into the energy of 'I am now seeking wellness' - the Doctors Clinic - and it was crucial, because the Doctor gave you a few minutes of his time, checked you out, reassured you slightly and gave you permission to be off work. (the recipe is completely gone from your memory) You went to the Pharmacy even though you don't really like taking medication, because you are a person who follows through with things, and you still do believe medicine has some kind of role to play. (in some cases and for some people, it does) Your body said no to the medication (I CAN DO IT was kicking in) and that's why (despite that nagging feeling your mother would growl) it's on the fridge. Your teaspoon of stubbornness (that will stop you from telling your mother you're sick) that busted through and said 'NO' has helped you to flip some kind of hidden switch. You achieved something that, while it was just getting housework out of the way, was actually a 'weight off your shoulders' too. You feel lighter and a bit fresher, and also, in a small way, successful. You moved energy in your house. You go to bed, but don't feel as sick as you did. In the morning you feel much better, better than you did when you were dragging yourself to work, but you stay home - just so you can have a day off that actually means something - because you have a certificate. (You can clean out the bowl on top of the fridge another day.) Consider this: All the things you did that made you feel better - were things you were doing just for you. What if you just gave yourself permission to take time, enjoying the nurturing energy of a natural therapy? Natural Therapy tends to boost you and shorten healing time. That $90 - $100 is a great investment in a session of clearing, healing, moving stuck energy, maybe even including house and office clearing too. Your session runs to the clock. You enter a peaceful 'bug free' haven (or even stay home, saving gas and travel time and have this healing via Skype) and as the energy is cleared round you, you are lifted into a space of freshness. Your equilibrium is restored. You have a whole hour all to yourself. No antibiotics, just pure energy boosting, undivided attention that is all about, and all for you and your wellness. Nurture time is GOOD. You feel more like You when you are finished/leave. Enhancing wellness helps removes the need to heal unwellness. Regular energy work helps you be more connected to the way your body feels, functions and how it speaks to you. Science actually says the body - despite the fact that you can push on it and it appears to be solid - is an energetic instrument. So this is why time and time again, physical illness is removed in ways that seem impossible, with energy. And because it's just energy, it works on body, mind and spirit - not just the mechanics.
