Threads of Life She sinks inside herself. Discouraged and lost in regret and self recrimination. And finds she is not alone. "Have you come for the dance?" he asks. "What dance?" she replies, "I don't understand. I don't know who you are. I can't see a dance, all I can see is black and dark, I've stuffed things up and been stupid, and people have done bad things to me and to each other. Terrible things happen. Life is tough." "Ah", he says. "Those people are teaching each other and you too. Teaching about love and pain, about how you can all make better choices, they are teaching how to think on your feet, how to have faith, how being saved at the last minute is a very real thing that happens, and about how you can cause great harm to yourself if you don't speak up. There are no mistakes, you are just learning." She catches her breath. He has her attention, after all, she has nothing else to do. He explains. "It is a dance because each person is crucial to complete a cycle. Each one is a link in an infinite chain reaction, weaving their way in and out, like a pattern in a fabric, and in that way they are dancers. The man that gives way for the rushing woman, is in the right place at the right time to save someone's life. The woman who gives a gift to the elderly neighbour, thwarts an opportunistic thief, who sees a kindness in action, and is inspired to change his mind." He goes inside himself for a moment and reflects, finding the words. "Sometimes tragedy opens the door for great kindness and a sense of stronger community. Even though It can be difficult, it's important in these times to remain open to good. These people who create wonderful things for each other, are all picking up their threads of life. The Threads of Life are very, very important. They are the same ones that provide people with nourishment from their spirits. When the threads are scattered, knotted or broken, life cannot flow as easily. This is what closure does, sometimes it causes people to wander and stretch their threads very thinly, but they can always be called back, unless it's their time to pass from this world. In cases of death, the thread is snapped completely, as the body is not needed any longer." She absorbs, and seeing how this opening and closing has worked in her life, she nods for him to continue. "The threads roll over and under each other, as the people go about their business. In this way, a blanket is woven by humanity for humanity. Faith is shared, created, restored. Possibility is birthed. Connection between people is the music for the dance, making unconditional relationships and extending kindnesses - this creates harmonious, beautiful music and makes the blanket soft. There are enough weavers now, and many more arriving daily to make this blanket enveloping, inviting and nurturing. Some call themselves Lightworkers, but really it is all kinds of people doing and sharing good. Story tellers, artists, carers, gardeners, builders, mothers, fathers and poets. They sprinkle the blanket with the warmth of heart and courage, the magic of moonlight, starlight, the lilt and uplift of sunshine and daisies. And with the most important thing - the promise of a new dawn." He pauses to see if she is still with him, and sees that her minds eye is filled with images, carried on a blissful journey of creating, imagining and remembering, a vivid landscape of love and caring. A softness has returned to her. He smiles. Her vibration is rising as he speaks. "Theirs is a sacred task, for they are removing the compression that has been laid down upon humanity. Wouldn't you agree that sharing love and wisdom has always been the greatest grace available to mankind?" She nods again. "This blanket is ready for you now. Do you take your part as a weaver in this magical dance?" "Yes." The faintest whisper. "Then there is nothing for you to do but allow the memories of your kindnesses to wash over you. To illuminate your life by engaging with the kindnesses others have done, for you and for all of humanity - and to allow this to also wash over you, and bathe your threads. Breathe and allow. As you do, they are becoming lighter and lighter, silvering in the sunshine of this infinite grace." "Sit now and feel the warmth of the blanket. Feel the light cleansing you and drawing away false ideas of wrongs, slights, and limitations. This light is love. And by your own remembering that you are an expression of this love, you are freed." And with that, she understands that they are One. This is not her alone, this is 'us'. She rests, wrapped in gratitude and the softest of blankets, with a full heart, inwardly experiencing the raw beauty of the dance - and she smiles - as she wonders what took her so long. In the distance, there is music.

On Lorde: My son walked into the kitchen one day when I was singing away to a new song (with something about bees in it) on the radio, and just casually said "Oh that's a girl called Ella from my school. I said "no way Jack - she has to be an international artist - listen to the song." He said "I'm serious Mum, and the guys in her video are her friends and people from around school too." He showed me on youtube and I was amazed to find he was right. She had several thousand 'thumbs ups' on her song and it was Kiwis saying wow. Didn't that all change?!! I don't need to tell you she is an international artist, but todays news is really exciting - four Grammy nominations!! Wow! While her team has created something so amazing and they so deserve the credit, it's weird to think of her transplanted in such a short space of time from Takapuna Grammar to the world. And I'm sure I'm not the only local (or kiwi for that matter) who is still a bit stunned by it. I watched an interview with teenagers discussing Royals and one said 'if more music was like this, I think our youth would have a different perception of what they want to be when they are older.' Amen to that. I love how real she is, certainly not a Mary Poppins, she says what she thinks, sometimes she rubs people up the wrong way - her opinions are her opinions and she is obviously a bit bemused by some of this. 'Royals' feels like a subtle culture protest song - bringing teen life back to something a bit more real (and perhaps digestible) than plastic underwear - and just in the nick of time. Go get your Grammy's Lorde. The world needs a Pure Heroine. Awesome. Deb X Sometimes people trying to get their points across look like zealots, and nothing turns me off faster, but amongst the zealoty over the top clips I have seen, a raft of great videos and news reports go through my facebook newsfeed. And these are a few I appreciate, so I am sharing. I am not into cons-piracy theories, I am into knowing that corporations are about profit and governments are funded by big, often discreetly gifted money. I am into knowing about what I can do to help myself and others around me. I am inspired to look more closely at the people around me and engage with them on a loving level. I might not understand their lives. I don't have to - but they are people like me, they for the most part, have sons and daughters and family they care about. They don't want their children to die tragically or needlessly, something has to give. Perhaps these will inspire some thought... 1. Mike Prysner - I don't know him, I don't know for certain if this is his valid life experience or merely a really well designed protest talk - but he makes such valid points, on humanity, greed, and rising above war and racism.
'Ordinary' people of volume do have great power, but not until they realise it. Remember the massive amount of people in the Egypt protest? It's worth your time to watch Mike's talk here. (He gets a few standing ovations before the end, but they are not the end - keep watching.) 2. I am aware of the massive mental destruction that occurs as a result of trauma. I work with people suffering from prolonged abuse, PTSD and other related issues. Reawakening the spirit within us all is crucial - and in this clip, the moment of engagement when this ex-veteran recognises himself under the layers of disillusionment is extremely heartwarming. He moves into a new phase of life as a result. It's a sad truth that many Vets are suffering unsupported from PTSD. Who did they really lose themselves for, what haunts them most? If they were all grouped together and allowed to air what haunts them most in a book, would anyone go to war? Would anyone send their child to war? 3. Russell Brand's great interview with Jeremy Paxman took the world by storm and is loaded with valid points that echo or rather frame the importance of the first talk by Mike Prysner. Russell doesn't have answers - he is outlining the need to recognise our power, aware of his own faults and speaking out of the space he has earned through his own work, like we all do - he has a right to have an opinion. I agree with Billy Connolly's quote from several years ago 'the desire to become a politician should prevent anyone from ever being allowed to be one.' I don't have answers either though, just suggestions. There are clips in my facebook newsfeed daily, clips that are not reaching mainstream media - displaying the massive amount of nuclear polluted water - thousands of litres a day, heading into the sea as a result of Fukushima. Draw your own conclusions as to why this is not being shared in the mainstream media. Find out about sustainability and pay attention to what is going into your mouth. About 3 weeks ago I chose to leave a full plate of sushi because the texture of the salmon in it was weird. I am not saying that it has been 'poisoned' - but it made me think - I don't know what was in it, and bad choices are being made on our behalf without any pretense of consultation. Have you seen the information about McDonalds fries having 17 ingredients? Did you, like me, imagine they are made of potatoes, oil and salt? We don't all need to be food zealots, but if we are what we eat and we are eating food loaded with numbers, bleach and dye - don't expect to feel great. We need to know where our food comes from, eat local, plant seeds, grow fruit trees, use farmers markets, buy organic if possible, throw away processed (I call it mechanical) food, it interferes with our brains, our children's brains and bodies - and perhaps learn how to muscle test the food we eat. We are fresh bodies. We NEED fresh air, love, fresh food AND fresh water, and we need to know where it comes from. We need to be more involved, more engaged with what we put in, because wellness is no longer something that many people can take for granted. I don't want Nestle to deplete water reservoirs from villages in Pakistan, which is what they are currently doing. Pay attention to what is coming out of your mouth - do be gentle and love each other without screaming about differences - strangers care about you and we see that demonstrated so easily when I ask for group healing on my facebook page. You might not know the people who send you healing, they just do it because they are GREAT people. You pass people daily in the street who wish you well, you are unaware of them, and they may not resonate with you, but they are there all the same. Care about yourself. Care about others. Teach your children to care about themselves and others, lead by example, and even when you are worried about life - don't teach them hopelessness, find them mentors, inspiration and discover what makes their hearts soar. The world we live in is personal and magical when we make it so. We can change it, by being mindful, by being loving, by being compassionate. We don't have to be perfect in any moment. Just engaged. Get a mentor, find someone who inspires you to keep reaching forward, even when life feels awful, because sometimes it does. Keep common sense with you - if what they say really has you questioning - don't blindly follow. I've heard a lot of crap come out of people who stood up and said they had all the answers. We all know there is a kind of crash already happening, it's via an obvious misalignment of us - people with new ideas and new needs crashing into the old archaic, establishment way of doing things. It's a good crash, a radical positive lifestyle change, coming in on a tide of dyslexic children, who don't fit the system and are more feeling, sensitive people. It's coming in on a web that connects people globally, on a wave of people who are disenchanted with the way government doesn't work, it's coming in on a wave of life changing love reaching the planet. The change is coming in with you. As Sting said - Love is the seventh wave. All you have to do is place one foot in front of the other and keep your eyes open and take care. Peace begins with us. Deb X 021 726 276 prev blog post - forget the diet, edit your life 50 ways energy healing has helped my clients Ok so. I am going to share a top secret lovely thing to do.
But I would like you to please use it wisely. Take your smart phone (with your music on it) to an electronics store and search for their wireless speaker network - find the yummiest AirPlay speaker that will let you hook up and play your music through it - make that music count. If you are lucky enough to be standing in front of a Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin - my best advice is to play Amazing Grace acapella by Leann Rimes on it, it's incredibly healing and will lift you into such a clear space. If you are really up for this - close your eyes to hear it and really feel it. If you are SUPER LUCKY - a shop assistant music nut will let you blast the shop. (Please don't tell the guys at JB HiFi that I sent you. They might think I am a music pest and it's one of my fave shops!) IMPORTANT WELLBEING NOTICE: Side Effects Include: Feeling a little bit (VERY) gorgeous, possibly lighter and taller. Please be aware you may also trigger smiles and weird looks from other people. Disclaimer: If you fall in love and feel like buying new sound gear as a result of this, (a very real side effect) I am not to be held responsible. If you become a music pest, I am similarly not responsible. Want to know more about sound healing or book a sound session with me? Ask me via the button below. Deb X 021 726 276 |
