I could have been all over Valentine's day like a bad rash. For business people, it's a PR dream. I could talk to and write for people who are in love, people who are out of love, I could write you a poem or tell you to remember love is always around you and to be honest, today I looked into it and then strolled off.
We don't do Valentine's day. Not in a grinch kind of way, we just think it's a bit stingy to save it for one day. But we remember that it was the day people could reveal a secret love, so it's all good. We're just not a secret, and we do love, real abiding love, every single day. That doesn't make us more/better/bigger or anything like that, it just is what it is, quite plain and perhaps a bit magical, but also very simple. We love. We love each other, our kids, our family, our friends, our clients, strangers, because... why not? We love family and friends we are in touch with, and those we are nearly never in touch with and people who have pissed us off too. Because every person on the planet deserves it. Unconditionally, radically loving, each and every day is a sort of freedom. We don't need to be involved, to love someone, we don't need them to perform in some way. Love is the light that brings everyone home. No ownership, no expectation, just celebration and wishing people well. That'll do. I think.
