THE MUGGLE AND THE MAGIC LADY
You got together. He thinks he is dating a perfectly normal person. Except, he’s not. You’re magical as f*ck and he is a MUGGLE. He doesn’t want to look at any of that stuff. But, he found, one day, while investigating your lovely lady lumps, that there were pink, and blue and green lumps. WHAT? You struggled to explain the bra full of crystals. You said you picked them up while you were vacuuming to put them somewhere else. But then he found them again. Now he thinks you’re a weirdo. His eyes are closed very tightly (it helps his ears to close). Why is he with YOU? He asked for it. He was attracted to your magic even though he doesn’t know what that was. Your sparkly spirit is the thing that invited him to sit with you to love you to be your best friend. BUT He thinks he may be overcome by the power of the plastic unicorn by three flying dolphins on the wall by the cupboard of Doreen Virtue cards (what the hell are they?) and he’s worked out that weird smell IS INCENSE. FFS. He’s started to tell himself stories he worries that his life may be infested with crushed velvet and nonsensical conversations about source and spirit and dimensions and other words HE DEFINITELY DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR. That shit stopped him from sleeping when he was a kid. But he loves your sparkle. And if he wants your sparkle he actually needs to keep breathing, and not hyperventilating while the unicorns mind their own business talking to the fairies on the windowsill. He could run the other way. He is scared of having no credibility around his friends whose wives are just better at HIDING THEIR UNICORNS. But let’s face it. We know they’re there. Don’t we? Because every time there is a magic workshop some, not all, women tell men they are going to the art gallery and they pile into it. And, unfortunately, it has a ratio of around twenty two women, to one man. He might not be having conversations about the things his friends can see in the dark. Because men often don’t talk about their gifts, in fact, they think there is something wrong with them. Society tells them voices in the head are bad and that’s not always true. Mine help people. It really is time for people who want more connection and more engagement and who actually mean, but may not even know to say they want more magic, to stop saying life isn’t full of it or stop being afraid of it. It’s time for the magic to stop apologising to the muggles who just haven’t had an experience yet that isn’t silly and ungrounded. The intersection of magic and logic is a life of MORE. It makes life and relationships bigger, makes them buzz, amp, grow and become a next level freaking amazing experience. So.... |
