Poem: Balance Point

The world of the mind

often takes us out of who we are,

with overthinking

running rough tracks and paths

of old, worn out programs

or worry, evidence

and heaviness.

Our mind might tell us

it’s painful, or not safe to feel

while it keeps us

in it’s power.

The world of feeling

shows us the road back in

to ourselves

to our hearts

to what resonates

and enriches us.

Both are important

in balance.

If you feel lost,

disconnect the mind

just for a moment

come back to presence,

simply standing and breathing

then say ‘It’s safe to be me.’

Place your hand on your heart,

breathe in through your nose,

out through your mouth,

close your eyes

and feel your way back in

using love

as your balance point

and guiding light.
