Big subject. But let me tell you, it's worth it.
Trusting that you are going to be alright, no matter what comes, is like a cosmic insurance policy because what we believe, comes to us, what we put out, comes back and what we think creates our experience of life.
To not trust, puts you in the tunnel. The dark one that you pray to see the light at the end of.
To trust, leaves you in an open field, full of the most glorious possibility, a field of dreams and wildflowers. Your role in this field of possibility and light, is to have an idea of who you are, so you can walk, surefooted.
A side effect of this, is a life of joy.
My friend posted this Lakota Indian Prayer today:
'Teach me how to trust my heart, my mind, my intuition, my inner knowing, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit.
Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my sacred space and love beyond my fear, and thus walk in balance with the passing of each glorious sun.'
And this is my response:
To not trust, is to court fear, and fear is a poor companion - a companion who puts itself first in front of everything. It teaches you to fear blossoming, to fear love, to fear loss, to fear freedom and to fear grace.
Fear teaches you to stay in the box, to play small and be stuck.
Fear is never your friend, once invited, it makes for an insidious, persistent, persuasive, abusive lover.
Trust is the path Love walks to freedom.
It IS your path. But you cannot bring your fearsome friend.
Fear is an energy that comes from hurt, misunderstanding, suppression, abandonment. It also comes when we have suffered great loss and believe that if we come out from behind the wall, we may suffer more.
Fear comes when we fail to take responsibility for our own happiness and blame life for our circumstances. Fear comes when we have difficulty adjusting, allowing or flowing. Fear comes when we have mistrust, and mistrust causes us to miss trust. Strangely though, while we are missing trust, we think of it as an unreachable place across the desert of life.
Fear is an energy. It can be cleared quickly, simply, or released with baby steps.
It's your choice, but one you may not realise you have.
